Zehn Jahre nach der Institutionalisierung der Organisationssoziologie in Deutschland wird mit diesem Band nicht nur ein Resümee über ihre Bedeutung in Deutschland gezogen, sondern vor allem Entwicklungslinien aufgezeigt, in die sich die Organisationssoziologie in den nächsten Jahren bewegen könnte. Dazu werden aktuelle Debatten zur Einbettung der Organisationssoziologie in die Gesellschaftstheorie, Querbezüge zur Wirtschaft, das Spannungsfeld zur nordamerikanischen Hegemonie sowie neue theoretische Ansätze in programmatischen Beiträgen diskutiert.
