Determinanten und Konsequenzen von Trennung und Scheidung

Zusammenfassung

Das Kapitel gibt einen Überblick über Theorien und Forschungsstand zu Ursachen und Konsequenzen der Instabilität ehelicher und nichtehelicher Paarbeziehungen. Die theoriegeleitete Systematisierung der Trennungsdeterminanten erfolgt auf Basis eines ökonomisch-austauschtheoretischen Prozessmodells, welches – unter Rekurs auf neuere Zwei-Prozess-Handlungstheorien – um kulturell-normative Determinanten erweitert wird. Im Bereich Trennungs- und Scheidungsfolgen werden empirische Befunde zu den materiellen und psychosozialen Trennungsfolgen für die involvierten Partner anhand eines theoretischen Modells systematisiert und diskutiert. Im letzten Abschnitt werden neuere Forschungstrends und zukünftige Fragestellungen identifiziert: die zunehmende systematische Erforschung von Effektheterogenität sowie das wachsende Interesse an Tiefenerklärungen und an den vermittelnden sozialen Mechanismen.
