Zusammenfassung
Der Beitrag berichtet über eine Studie im australischen Bundesstaat Queensland, an der 36 Vorschulpädagogen teilgenommen haben. Das staatliche Bildungsministerium, Arbeitgeber dieser Fachkräfte, führte ein verbindliches Curriculumdokument für die Arbeit mit Kindern im (nicht obligatorischen) Jahr vor der Einschulung ein. Die Reaktion der Fachkräfte auf dieses Dokument und Auswirkungen auf den Alltag in den Kindertageseinrichtungen werden analysiert. Als Ergebnis wird festgehalten, dass die Vorschulkräfte die gängige Praxis bestätigten und sich dafür aussprachen, den vorschulischen Bildungsplan mehr an das Grundschulcurriculum anzupassen.
