Zusammenfassung
Jährlich wird bei bis zu 400.000 Personen (Statistisches Bundesamt) ein Malignom diagnostiziert. Bereits bei der Diagnosestellung leiden 30–50 % der Patienten an Schmerzen. Mit weiterer Tumorprogredienz erleben 80–90 % der Patienten Episoden mit starken bis stärksten Schmerzen. Dies steht im Widerspruch zu Untersuchungsergebnissen, wonach 90 % der Patienten binnen 5 Tagen schmerztherapeutisch suffizient einzustellen sind. Aktuelle Untersuchungen zum Stand der Tumorschmerztherapie in Deutschland weisen eine Fehlversorgung von 10–15 % der Patienten auf. Bei der Versorgung von Tumorpatienten spielt die Symptomkontrolle , u. a. die Analgesie, eine herausragende Rolle.
