Zusammenfassung
Der Beitrag diskutiert verschiedene Verständnisse von Strategischer Kommunikation in Theorie und Praxis und erläutert die Problematik einer inflationären Verwendung des Begriffs für sämtliche Formen der Unternehmenskommunikation. Unter Rückgriff auf die internationale Fachdiskussion wird eine interdisziplinäre Definition eingeführt: Strategische Kommunikation ist diejenige Kommunikation, die substanziell bedeutsam für das Überleben und den nachhaltigen Erfolg von Unternehmen und anderen Entitäten ist. Insbesondere bezeichnet Strategische Kommunikation diejenige Kommunikation, die Konversationen und Meinungsbildungsprozesse von erfolgskritischer Bedeutung mitzugestalten versucht. Strategisches Kommunikationsmanagement stellt demnach in Übereinstimmung mit der strategischen Managementlehre den Versuch dar, die erfolgskritische Kommunikation in, von und über Unternehmen zu gestalten, entwickeln und lenken.
