Abstract

Cyelodextrin bead polymers of different specific gel bed volume (in the range of 4–20 cm3/g were prepared). The correlation between the parameters of the polymerisation and the specific gel bed volume of the formed polymers was studied. Three different bead polymers were tested for desalting and separation of proteins. The 4–5 cm3/g specific gel bed volume CDP-25 and the 8–10 cm3/g specific gel bed volume CDP-50 can be used only for the desalting or bufferchange of proteiin solutions. The 14–16 cm3/g specific gel bed volume CDP-75 can be used for separation of different molecular weight proteins in the 13.700–232.000 molecular weight range.
