Zusammenfassung
Der Prozess der Beschaffung von Waren und Dienstleistungen im B2B-Kontext unterliegt aufgrund der zunehmenden Digitalisierung von einzelnen Kontaktpunkten zwischen nachfragenden und anbietenden Unternehmen massiven Veränderungen: Einerseits stellt die Anreicherung des Prozesses um digitale Kontaktpunkte, andererseits der kundenseitige Wechsel von Kontaktpunkten bzw. Medien im Verlauf des Prozesses Unternehmen vor große Herausforderungen. Folglich wurden in der Literatur zahlreiche Ausarbeitungen zu Customer Journeys entwickelt, welche allerdings vornehmlich den Fokus auf das B2C-Umfeld legen. Aufgrund der Komplexität und der Multipersonalität von Kaufprozessen im B2B-Umfeld ist der Bedarf an spezifischer Systematisierung jedoch immens. Der vorliegende Abschnitt greift diese Lücke auf und entwickelt eine Konzeptionalisierung von Customer Journeys im B2B-Kontext. Dazu werden zunächst die Besonderheiten eines B2B-Umfelds untersucht sowie die Medienwahl der nachfragenden Unternehmen entlang der Kontaktpunkte einer Customer Journey durch die Media Synchronicity Theory begründet. Diese theoretische Fundierung wird anschließend in zehn Tiefeninterviews mit B2B-Unternehmen verprobt und daraus eine generische B2B-Customer Journey konzeptualisiert. Eine solche Customer Journey dient als Muster für die Gestaltung von Einkaufs- und Vertriebsstrukturen in der Marketingpraxis.
