Zusammenfassung
Die Diskussionen, die mit Begriffen wie »transmedia storytelling« oder »convergence culture« in Bezug auf Spielfilme und insbesondere Fernsehserien schon länger angestoßen worden sind, betreffen zunehmend auch den Dokumentarfilm. Nach revolutionären Vorreitern wie etwa …No Lies, This is Spinal Tap oder C’est arrivé près chez de vous ist der Charakter der Hybridisierung spätestens in den 2000er Jahren in der Mitte der Gesellschaft angekommen: mit zahlreichen Dokumentarspielen in fast allen Fernsehprogrammen oder dem Erfolg des großen, populären Kino-Dokumentarfilms zwischen Michael Moore und den aufwändig produzierten Naturfilmen der letzten Jahre. Heute findet die Hybridisierung allerdings zunehmend im gesamten medialen Kontext statt.
