Horizontverschiebungen und die Endostruktur der Gesellschaft

Zusammenfassung

Wenn die moderne Gesellschaft als eine funktional differenzierte Gesellschaft beschrieben wird, wie lassen sich dann Katastrophen analysieren? Sind Katastrophen, wie die meisten Katastrophenforscher denken, Brüche und Erschütterungen der gesellschaftlichen Ordnung oder, wie es die Systemtheorie nahelegt, eine spezifische Form gesellschaftlicher Selbstbeschreibung? Im Folgenden werde ich versuchen, Katastrophen – alternativ zu diesen beiden Varianten – als eine Formverschiebung der Gesellschaft zu beschreiben. Um die Katastrophe als eine Formverschiebung denken zu können, müssen wir zunächst das Verhältnis von Dingen und funktionaler Differenzierung im Normalbetrieb der modernen Gesellschaft analysieren. Dazu entwickleich einige Theoriefiguren der Akteur-Netzwerk-Theorie weiter.
