Zusammenfassung
Körperliche Aktivität spielt in der Prävention, Therapie und Rehabilitation einer zunehmenden Zahl von chronischen Erkrankungen eine wachsende Rolle. Körperliche Aktivität, in diesem Beitrag synonym mit dem Begriff »Bewegung« verwendet, ist jede durch die Skelettmuskulatur ausgelöste körperliche Bewegung, die den Energieverbrauch über den Ruheumsatz anhebt, und umfasst sowohl Freizeitaktivitäten, wie z.B. Sport, als auch Bewegung im Beruf, bei der Haus- oder Gartenarbeit und die aktive Fortbewegung.
