Zusammenfassung
Regelmäßige körperliche Aktivität und Sport haben paradoxe Effekte. Einerseits schützen sie vor vorzeitiger Sterblichkeit und einer Vielzahl nicht übertragbarer Erkrankungen, andererseits können sie bei akuter oder chronischer Überdosierung, wenn auch äußerst selten, zu unerwünschten kardiovaskulären Ereignissen und, wesentlich häufiger, zu muskuloskelettalen Komplikationen führen. Der Nutzen regelmäßiger körperlicher Aktivität überwiegt aber bei weitem die damit verbundenen Risiken und Nebenwirkungen.
