Zusammenfassung
Die Suche nach Geborgenheit ist überlebenswichtig und hat als evolutionäre Grundlage die Suche nach Sicherheit und damit Schutz vor Gefahr. Diese Sicherheits- und Geborgenheitssuche entspringt einem bei Baby und Mutter aktivierten Bindungsverhaltenssystem, das ein wesentliches Motivationssystem in zwischenmenschlichen Beziehungen bis zum Erwachsenenalter darstellt. Das Pendant zur Geborgenheitssuche beim Säugling stellt das über Generationen weitergegebene Fürsorgeverhalten dar. Prototypisch für dieses Fürsorgeverhalten ist die Mutterliebe. Aus ihr haben sich nach Eibl-Eibesfeld (1970) alle anderen Formen der Bindung zwischen Menschen entwickelt, d. h. Mitgefühl, Mitleid, romantische Liebe bei Erwachsenen und sonstige Geselligkeitsformen.
