About this book
The purpose of this book is to present recent developments in scheduling in cloud manufacturing and Industry 4.0 and to systemize these developments in new taxonomies and methodological principles to shape this new research domain. This book addresses the needs of both researchers and practitioners to uncover the challenges and opportunities of scheduling techniques’ applications to cloud manufacturing and Industry 4.0. For the first time, it comprehensively conceptualizes scheduling in cloud manufacturing and Industry 4.0 systems as a new research domain. The chapters of the book are written by the leading international experts and utilize methods of operations research, industrial engineering and computer science. Such a multi-disciplinary combination is unique and comprehensively deciphers major problem taxonomies, methodologies, and applications to scheduling in cloud manufacturing and Industry 4.0.

About the editors
Dmitry Ivanov is a professor of Supply Chain and Operations Management at the Berlin School of Economics and Law (BSEL). Hisresearch explores structural dynamics and control in complex networks, with applications to supply chain resilience, scheduling in Industry 4.0 systems, supply chain simulation, risk analytics and digital supply chain twins. He is co-author of structural dynamics control methods for supply chain management. His research record includes around 330 publications, with 78 papers in prestigious, peer-reviewed academic journals and the leading books “Global Supply Chain and Operations Management,” "Structural Dynamics and Resilience in Supply Chain Risk Management“ and "Handbook of Ripple Effects in the Supply Chain“ published with Springer. He is Editor of International Journal of Integrated Supply Management and Associate editor of International Journal of Production Research and International Journal of Systems Sciences.
Alexandre Dolgui is a Distinguished Professor (Full Professor of Exceptional Class in France) and the Head of Automation, Production, and Computer Sciences Department at the IMT Atlantique (former Ecole des Mines de Nantes and Telecom Bretagne), France. His research focuses on manufacturing line design, production planning, and supply chain optimization. His research is mainly based on exact mathematical programming methods and their intelligent coupling with heuristics and metaheuristics algorithms. He is the co-author of 5 books, the co-editor of 19 books for conference proceedings, the author of 236 refereed journal papers, 27 editorials, and 32 book chapters, as well as the author of over 400 papers written for conference proceedings. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Production Research and an Area Editor of Computers & Industrial Engineering.
