Abstract
The inhibition effect of supramolecular polymer [poly(AA-AM-AMPS-MAH-β-CD)] for P110 carbon steel in 0.5 M hydrochloric acid (HCl) solution was investigated by potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The polarization curves results revealed that the supramolecular polymer could be classified as a mixed-type inhibitor. It was found that the inhibition efficiency increased with the increase of the supramolecular polymer concentration. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) were used for surface characterization of carbon steel.
