Performance Analysis of Wearable Textile Antenna Under Different Conditions for WLAN and C-Band Applications

Abstract

In this article, a wearable textile antenna with the partial ground is presented here. This antenna is able to reduce surface wave losses and increase the impedance bandwidth for various wireless applications. Jeans fabric textile material is used as a substrate and the adhesive copper tape is used as a patch to development of the proposed antenna. The proposed antenna operates between 3.4–8.3 GHz and offers impedance bandwidth of 83.76% and peak gain of 5.2dBi. The proposed structure incorporates smaller size, litheness in structure, and microstrip line fed antenna having a dimension of 40 × 40 mm2 with partial ground structure. The impact of antenna parameters is additionally investigated through parametric examination. To check the task of displaying structure, the antenna is manufactured and measured through the vector network analyzer. Simulated and measured results are approximately closer to give good agreement. The proposed structure is able to work under WLAN (5.15–5.35 GHz) HIPER LAN/2 (5.15–5.350 GHz, 5.470–5.725 GHz), C-Band (4–8 GHz) applications.
