Zusammenfassung
Unter onkologischen Notfällen versteht man kritische klinische Zustände, die durch die Tumorerkrankung selbst oder durch eingeleitete Therapiemaßnahmen entstehen, dadurch zu einer massiven Beeinträchtigung der Vitalparameter führen und die, unbehandelt bzw. nicht rechtzeitig diagnostiziert, vital bedrohliche Gefährdungen darstellen. Aufgrund von hohen Krebsinzidenzen und der Möglichkeit, auch in fortgeschrittenen Tumorstadien aggressive zytostatische und radiotherapeutische Behandlungen durchzuführen, nimmt die Häufigkeit von Tumorerkrankungs- und therapiebedingten Notfällen zu. Viele dieser bedrohlichen Situationen können nur in einem gut kooperierenden interdisziplinären Team, das hohe Expertise im Umgang mit onkologischen Krankheitsbildern hat, erfolgreich und sicher behandelt werden. Es können auch onkologische Notfälle als Erstsymptomatik einer Tumorerkrankung bei Patienten und Patientinnen auftreten, bei denen eine Krebsdiagnose zuvor noch nicht gestellt wurde.
