Zusammenfassung
Nosokomiale Pneumonien sind mit einer erhöhten Letalität, einer verlängerten Liegedauer und erhöhten Kosten verbunden. Der überwiegende Teil der wissenschaftlichen Literatur zum Thema nosokomiale Pneumonie bezieht sich auf invasiv beatmete Patienten. In der aktuellen S3-Leitlinie „Epidemiologie, Diagnostik und Therapie erwachsener Patienten mit nosokomialer Pneumonie“ wird aber darauf hingewiesen, dass die HAP („hospital acquired pneumonia“) aufgrund zunehmender Morbidität bei hospitalisierten Patienten auch bei spontan atmenden bzw. nicht invasiv beatmeten Patienten als ein zunehmendes Problem einzuschätzen ist. Dieses Kapitel gibt eine Übersicht über das Erregerspektrum und die Pathogenese und fasst Empfehlungen zur mikrobiologischen Diagnostik und zur Therapie zusammen.
