Zusammenfassung
Die Erstellung von Prognosen im Bereich der Lagerhaltung ist ein wichtiger Bestandteil des Wertschöpfungsprozesses für Industrie und Handel. Prognoseverfahren dienen im Rahmen der Disposition vor allem zur Sicherstellung einer optimalen Versorgung, da die Entscheidungen auf Basis suboptimaler Prognosemethoden zu vermeidbaren Kosten führen. Die ermittelten Vorhersagen für Rohstoffe, fertige Erzeugnisse und Ersatzteile bilden eine Grundlage für die Produktionsplanung und Ersatzteilbevorratung. Für die Disposition ist eine genaue und rechtzeitige Vorhersage der Beschaffungsmengen und -zeitpunkte erforderlich. Zu hohe Lagerbestände bewirken u.a. hohe Lagerhaltungs- und Kapitalbindungskosten.
