Zusammenfassung
Als Aortenaneurysma wird eine Vergrößerung des Aortendurchmesser um >50% des Normalwertes bezeichnet. Abhängig von der Lokalisation besteht ab einer bestimmten Größe sowie bei rascher Größenprogredienz aufgrund der Rupturgefahr die Indikation zur operativen Sanierung. Bei der Aortendissektion, einem akut lebensbedrohlichen Zustandsbild, kommt es zum Einriss der Gefäßwand mit Bildung eines intramuralen, sog. falschen Lumens.
