Zusammenfassung
Digitale Unterhaltungsangebote bieten vielfältige Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten und eignen sich in unterschiedlicher Weise für die Vermittlung gesundheitsbezogener Inhalte oder die Förderung und Aufrechterhaltung der eigenen Gesundheitskompetenz. Die game-basierten Angebote (im Folgenden g-Health) unterscheiden sich dabei nicht nur hinsichtlich des Gesundheitsbezugs, der Zielstellung, des Anwendungsbereichs, des Spieldesigns oder der Programmierung und Plattform, sondern vor allem auch hinsichtlich ihres theoretischen Rahmens. Der vorliegende Beitrag gibt einen Überblick über Games for Health, Serious Games sowie (game-basierte) Gesundheits-Apps als zentrale Varianten von g-Health. Darüber hinaus werden grundlegende theoretische Bezüge (u. a. Entertainment-Education, Gamification) und Anwendungsbereiche skizziert. In einer Gegenüberstellung werden die Potenziale und Limitationen von unterschiedlichen g-Health-Angeboten herausgestellt. Den Abschluss bildet ein Ausblick auf ein sich rasch entwickelndes Angebot und Forschungsfeld.
