Abstract
The problem is investgated as to how far the wave equation representing a quantum-mechanical system can be transformed by change of variables into a system of equations which have the form of the classical equation of motion of a deformable medium. In the present paper we carry out this investigation in the case of a single charged particle moving under the influence of an outside potential.
