Abstract
An exact solution has been obtained for the Einstein-Maxwell field equation with ⋀ corresponding to a spherically-symmetric charged perfect fluid distribution. Here the cosmological constant ⋀ is assumed to be a scalar variable depending on the radial coordinater of the spherical system, viz., ⋀ = ⋀(r). The solution set thus obtained presents an electromagnetic mass model.
