Abstract
The relevant coefficient of second viscosity ξ 3 is calculated exactly near the transition in terms of the quasiparticle scattering amplitude in the normal state. ξ 3 is shown to dominate the attenuation of fourth and second sound. Second sound should be well defined only at frequencies below about 1 Hz.
