Abstract
This paper deals with the propagation of shock and acceleration wave fronts in elastic media with temperature dependent properties. The partial differential equations governing the evolution of such waves are derived and solved using the method of Charpit. Solutions for wave front propagation in a thermoelastic layer with exponentially temperature dependent properties are obtained.
