Additional information
This paper was originally composed in two parts. The formal Logic of Demonstratives was first presented at the Irvine Summer Institute on the Philosophy of Language in 1971. It was expanded in 1973. The initial discursive material was written on April 20, 1973 as part of a research proposal. This paper was intended as a companion piece to and progress report on the material in ‘Dthat’. A more extensive presentation occurs in my manuscript Demonstratives. This work was supported by the National Science Foundation.
