Oscillations of ICP Related to Cardiovascular Parameters

  • Conference paper
Intracranial Pressure VI

Abstract

Since the classification of Nils Lundberg in 1960, oscillations of the intracranial pressure (ICP) with a frequency of 0.5-2/min are called B-waves. Lundberg was also the first to connect their pathogenesis with oscillating paC02 in periodic respiration (esp. Cheyne- Stoke respiration, CSR). Further studies confirmed this (Karp et al. 1961, Brock et al. 1978, Furuse et al. 1980, Gaab 1980).
