Zusammenfassung
In einer Welt, die stark von Krisen und Veränderungssituationen geprägt ist, sind sowohl Wissenschaftler als auch Praktiker auf der Suche nach geeigneten Führungskonzepten. In diesem Kapitel wird das Konzept der transformationalen Führung insbesondere unter dem Fokus seiner Bedeutung im Rahmen von Krisensituationen und Wandel beleuchtet. Bereits bei seiner Entwicklung (vgl. Abschn. 2.2) wurde transformationale Führung als veränderungsorientierte Führung konzipiert. Diese Konzeption prägt auch die aktuelle Forschung. Empirische Studien belegen sowohl die Wirksamkeit der transformationalen Führung im Allgemeinen als auch ihre Relevanz im Kontext von Veränderungsprozessen (vgl. Abschn. 2.3). Trotz einer relativ großen Nähe des Konzeptes zu Persönlichkeitstheorien der Führung, wurden Ansätze zur Diagnose und Entwicklung der transformationalen Führung entwickelt, welche eine wichtige Voraussetzung für die Umsetzung der transformationalen Führung in der Praxis bilden (vgl. Abschn. 2.4). Und obwohl das Konzept die Wirksamkeit der einzelnen Führungsperson möglicherweise überbetont, wird die transformationale Führung zurzeit auch außerhalb des Wirtschaftslebens (in der Politik oder im Sport) stark beachtet (vgl. Abschn. 2.5).
