Zusammenfassung
Während primäre maligne Knochentumoren gerade bei Erwachsenen selten auftreten, sind Knochenmetastasen deutlich häufiger und haben ihr Altersmaximum zwischen dem 60. und 70. Lebensjahr. Grundlage der Therapie ist die Sicherung der Diagnose mittels Biopsie und die bildgebende sowie histologische Stadieneinteilung des malignen Tumors. Das Therapiekonzept (neoadjuvant/operativ/adjuvant) muss jeweils individuell erstellt werden.
Nach der Tumorresektion kann die Rekonstruktion biologisch oder mittels Endoprothesensystemen erfolgen. Gerade die weiterentwickelten modularen Systeme führen heutzutage zu guten funktionellen Ergebnissen mit langen Standzeiten und einer reduzierten Komplikationsrate. Individuell angefertigte Implantate stehen zur Verfügung, müssen jedoch aufgrund der Breite der modularen Systeme nur noch selten — und dann v. a. am Becken — eingesetzt werden.
