The beneficial effects of photoprotection in skin health has been well established. This topical collection of Photochemical and Photobiological Sciences cover some of the new developments in photoprotection, including the role of photoprotection in occupational dermatology, oral photoprotection, new developments in sunscreens, pollution and skin aging, visible light and blue light in dermatology, UV filters and the environment, and natural UV filters.

    HENRY W. LIM is the former Clarence S. Livingood chair and chairman of the Department of Dermatology (1997-2017), Henry Ford Health, Detroit, Michigan, USA. Dr. Lim has served as president of the American Academy of Dermatology (2017-2018), and was awarded an Honorary Membership of the AAD.

  • Dr. Yolanda Gilaberte

    Yolanda Gilaberte is dermatologist, currently head of the Dermatology Department at Miguel Servet University Hospital since 2017 and President of the Spanish Academy of Dermatology and Venereology since 2022. She is associate professor of Dermatology at the University of Zaragoza (Spain), honorary research professor at the University of Alcalá de Henares (Spain), and former coordinator of the Spanish Group of photobiology.
