Interdisciplinary: Renewable and Sustainable Energy for Sustainable Development

Participating journal: Discover Applied Sciences

To increase the overall percentage of energy produced from renewable sources, countries must take strong measures in response to climate change and the continuously expanding challenges in the energy industry around the world. Meanwhile, the main sources of sustainable energy are the sun, wind, water, biofuel, biomass, and geothermal power; however, each of them has inherent drawbacks that prevent widespread adoption. Consequently, the researchers must work hard to find solutions to these issues to improve the usability of these varied sustainable sources.

This Topical Collection covers a wide range of topics related to renewable energy sources, energy production methods, and energy management, but is not limited to these areas. It aims to compile new study findings and emerging techniques in the field of renewable and sustainable energy for sustainable development: (1) Biofuel production and its applications; (2) Hydrogen production and its application; (3) Advanced combustion techniques; (4) Algae biofuel production and its application; (5) Renewable energy potential and forecasting; (6) Design and optimization of renewable energy schemes; (7) Renewable hybrid energy schemes; (8) Renewable energy conversion efficiency; (9) Energy management; (10) Renewable energy communities; (11) Carbon sequestration; (12) Biorefinery applications. Review papers and articles based on multidisciplinary research are also encouraged.
