Abstract
When I received the invitation to participate in the workshop that led to this book, I was struck by the question mark following the phrase “customized science”. As a student and teacher of the history of science, and an empiricist, naturalist, and feminist philosopher of science, I thought “When is science not customized?” Indeed, I asked “Is a science that is not customized even possible?”
