Abstract

The paper deals with the design and performance analysis of a cavity-backed substrate integrated waveguide (SIW)-based slotted antenna operating at 5.8 GHz. The antenna accommodates four ports oriented in four different directions which make it a multiple input multiple output (MIMO) antenna. The four ports are designed in such a way that it enables the antenna to radiate in multiple directions with linear and circular polarisation. The return loss of the antenna is 36.59 dB and has a maximum gain of 9.55 dB. The proposed research aims to contribute to the advancement in high-performance antennas for wireless communication like 5G, radar communications, etc.
