Abstract
Sadek Hamid has worked professionally in youth and community development in both the statutory and third sectors for over 11 years and has engaged with the Islamic voluntary sector for 24 years. He has a MA in Islamic Studies and his PhD focused on young British Muslims and religious activism. He was Programme Leader and Lecturer in Muslim Youth Work at the University of Chester and a Visiting Lecturer at the Cambridge Muslim College. He writes and speaks on matters related to Muslim youth and Islam in Britain, nationally and internationally and has appeared in various news media including the BBC, Channel 4 and the Islam Channel. His work has been published in numerous books, journals and newspapers such as Youth & Policy, ISIM Review, Religion, State & Society, The Guardian and The Muslim News.
