Abstract
We compared the stoichiometric ratios of PSII and PSI reaction centers in the photosynthetic apparatus of Anacystis nidulans and Spinacea oleracea, spectrophotometrically [Melis/Brown, 1980] from the amplitude of the light-induced absorbance change at 320 nm (Q) and at 700 nm (P700). A comparison of the relative Chl/P700, Chl/Q and Q/P700 ratios is given in Table 1. The results clearly show that in blue-green algae PSI is predominant while PSII is more abundant in grana-containing higher plants.
