Abstract

In this chapter we shall review, from a mechanistic viewpoint, the fundamental processes involved in reactions catalysed by transition metals. Particular emphasis is placed on those reactions pertaining to syn gas chemistry. More indepth treatments of particular mechanisms are given in later chapters which deal with specific reactions of syn gas.
