Abstract

In this paper the kinetics and the phenomenological aspects of oxidation processes are analyzed for several silicon nitrides, aluminum nitrides, titanium nitride, titanium-diboride based monolithics and composites. Oxidation kinetics are discussed on the basis of theoretical functions which have found application in studies of reaction and/or diffusion processes occuring in the solids and the factors affecting oxidation processes are evaluated.
