Abstract

Azadirachta indica A. Juss is commonly known as Neem or “Margosa”, and also Indian Lilac (synonym Melia azadirachta L.; Melia indica A. Juss Brand or Melia parviftora Moon; family Meliaceae). It is a native to Burma and dry arid regions of the Indian subcontinent. During the last century, it was introduced into the arid zones of Africa and is now being widely planted in Australia, Fiji, Mauritius, Central and South America, The Caribbean, Puerto Rico, Haiti, Philippines and other countries.
