Abstract
This section of the handbook is composed of five chapters each of which synthesizes current knowledge, evolving understandings, and research questions that are current at various levels of the educational continuum. The chapters address student selection for medical studies, undergraduate medical education in the basic sciences and clinical education, postgraduate education, and continuing medical education.
