Abstract
The Bioenergy Agreement of the International Energy Agency promotes cooperative research among its participating countries on biomass for energy. Three areas in this field are under study: biomass growth and production technology in short rotation forestry, biomass from conventional forestry, and conversion. The research activities currently in progress, as well past and proposed undertakings are listed and described.
