Kommunikation als Erfolgsfaktor im Innovationsmanagement

Der langfristige Erfolg von Unternehmen hängt immer stärker davon ab, inwiefern der Produktionsfaktor Wissen möglichst effektiv und effizient generiert, transferiert und integriert wird. In diesem Zusammenhang wurden in den letzten Jahren themenspezifische Wissensnetzwerke, so genannte Communities of Practice (CoPs), zunehmend wissenschaftlich diskutiert und in der Unternehmenspraxis eingesetzt. Dennoch wird vielfach der konkrete Nutzen dieser Netzwerke in Frage gestellt. Hier setzt der vorliegende Beitrag an. Unter Berücksichtigung konzeptioneller und empirischer Befunde der CoP- bzw. Wissensmanagementliteratur sowie der Team-, Innovations- und Netzwerkforschung kann gezeigt werden, dass CoPs die Kommunikation innerhalb eines Unternehmens sowie mit Partnern, Kunden und Lieferanten und damit die Generierung von Innovationen fördern.
