Zusammenfassung
Wachstum ist ein zentraler Stellhebel für den Markterfolg und langfristige Wertsteigerung. Gleichzeitig ist Wachstum die Perspektive, die Mitarbeiter und Kapitalmärkte gleichermaßen fasziniert. Während sich die etablierten Automobilmärkte der Triade auf dem Pfad zur alten Stärke bewegen, bilden die Emerging Markets zentrale Wachstumsoptionen für internationale Automobilhersteller. Sie sind sprudelnde Quelle für neue Kunden, Produktinnovationen und zukünftige Umsätze.
Diese Wachstumspotenziale zu heben erfordert Flexibilität im Denken und Handeln. Analysen müssen vielfältige Perspektiven berücksichtigen und die lokalen Herausforderungen identifizieren. Märkte enden nicht innerhalb von Landesgrenzen, Wachstum findet nicht gleichmäßig innerhalb eines Landes statt. Große Volumen oder hohe Wachstumsraten heute bedeuten nicht zwangsläufig auch morgen Wachstum. Die Emerging Markets sind zwar in einem frühen Stadium der Entwicklung, allerdings entwickeln sich dort neue Produktlösungen und Märkte, die neue Antworten der etablierten Automobilhersteller fordern. Dies wird z.B. durch das rasante Wachstum neuer Herausforderer aus diesen Ländern und die Konvergenz staatlicher Emissionsanforderungen beschleunigt. Gleichzeitig erfordern zunehmende Urbanisierung und der E-Mobility-Trend neue Geschäftsmodelle. Internationale Automobilhersteller müssen daher frühzeitig neue Wachstumsfelder erschließen und frühzeitig ihre Marktposition in neuen Märkten ausbauen. Es gilt somit der Leitsatz von Henry Ford: „Whatever you have, you must either use or loose.” Wachstumsstrategien müssen somit Geschäftsmodell, Produkte und Markenstrategien in Frage stellen und vor dem Hintergrund globaler Trends und lokaler Kundenanforderungen ihre Strategie flexibel anpassen.
