Zusammenfassung
Die staatliche deutsche Einheit wurde am 3. Oktober 1990 formal vollzogen. Die Entwicklung zu einer Einheit im Sinne einheitlicher Lebensbedingungen in den neuen und alten Bundesländern wird noch lange Zeit benötigen. Es wird Ungleichheiten geben im Zugang zum Arbeitsmarkt, im Einkommen und im privaten Besitzstand, in der Zahl der Selbständigen und Untemehmer, in der Qualität von Wohnungen und Wohnumgebungen u.a.m., Ungleichheiten, deren Ausmaß und Dauer anfänglich von einigen Politikern drastisch unterschätzt wurden.
Einige der Argumente dieses Beitrages sind erstmals in einem Vortrag auf dem 38. Kongreß der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Psychologie 1992 in Trier dargelegt worden (Montada, L. (Hg.) (1993).
