Zusammenfassung
Der Tenor Jean Cox kam 1959 ins Ensemble des Mannheimer Nationaltheaters. Ich, 15 Jahre jünger als Cox, lernte 1960 meinen späteren Ehemann, den Kammermusiker Werner Brunst kennen, der dem Nationaltheaterorchester als Bratscher angehörte, und verfiel der Mannheimer Oper von Stund an sozusagen mit Haut und Haaren. Ehrensache, dass ich alle Inszenierungen des damals konkurrenzlos umfangreichen Repertoires sah, die meisten mehrfach und ganz gewiss erneut nach jeder wichtigen Umbesetzung.
