Zusammenfassung
Johann Adam REUM (1780–1839) wurde in Altenbreitungen (Ortsteil der Gemeinde Breitungen/Werra im heutigen Landkreis Schmalkalden-Meiningen in Thüringen) geboren. Zunächst erhielt er Unterricht bei Carl Friedrich August Mosengeil (1773–1839), einer von den Erfindern der deutschen Kurzschrift (Stenografie) im benachbarten Frauenbreitungen. Ab 1798 besuchte er das Lyzeum illustre in Meiningen (gegründet 1705), das Mitte des 18. Jh.
