Zusammenfassung
Die Organismengruppe der Metazoa (Vielzeller) zeichnet sich durch einen vielzelligen Körper aus, bei dem sich die einzelnen Zellen spezialisiert und funktionell differenziert haben. Verbände gleichartiger Zellen, die untereinander kommunizieren und zusammenarbeiten, werden als Gewebe bezeichnet. Die Lehre von den Geweben nennt man Histologie.
