Zusammenfassung
Die Luftröhre kann sowohl von innen als von außen zum Offenhalten oder zur Stabilisierung geschient werden. Die Therapie zur Freihaltung der Atemwege gewinnt durch diese Verfahren eine weitere Option. In diesem Kapitel werden die derzeitigen Möglichkeiten der endoluminalen Platzhalter in kritischer Sichtweise abgehandelt. Schwerpunkte liegen dabei auf den heute gängigen selbstexpandierenden Metallstents, ballonexpandierbaren Stents und Stents auf Silikonbasis, die hinsichtlich ihrer Differenzialindikationen sowie Vor- und Nachteile mit zahlreichen Abbildungen, Tabellen und Textbeschreibungen übersichtlich dargestellt werden. Die Implantationstechniken von Stents, die in der Regel in Allgemeinanästhesie und über starre Bronchoskop- oder Mikrolaryngoskopie-Rohre erfolgen, werden in interdisziplinärer Sichtweise umfassend abgehandelt. Betrachtungen und Fallbeispiele zur endoluminalen Schienung bei benignen und malignen Tracheaveränderungen finden sich im Kapitel ebenso wie umfassende Ausführungen zu Problemen und Gefahren im Zusammenhang mit Intubationen, Tracheotomien, tracheo-ösophagealen Fisteln und der Anwendung von Lasertechniken bei Patienten mit einliegenden Stents.
