Zusammenfassung
Es werden Grundlagen der Positiven Psychologie unter besonderer Berücksichtigung von Arbeiten zu Charakterstärken und Tugenden sowie Interventionen zur Steigerung des Wohlbefindens vorgestellt. In der Values-in-Action-(VIA-)Klassifikation werden 24 Stärken (moralisch positiv bewertete Eigenschaften) und 6 übergeordnete Tugenden zusammengestellt. Zahlreiche Studien zeigen, dass die Stärken mit Wohlbefinden in Verbindung stehen und in vielen Bereichen des täglichen Lebens (Familie, Schule, Beruf usw.) eine wichtige Rolle spielen. Unter positiven Interventionen versteht man bewusst gesetzte Aktivitäten, die darauf abzielen, positive Gedanken, Handlungen und/oder Aktivitäten zu fördern. Metaanalysen zeigen, dass diese das Potenzial haben, Wohlbefinden zu verbessern und das Auftreten depressiver Symptome auch längerfristig zu reduzieren. Insgesamt bietet die Positive Psychologie eine Vielzahl von Anwendungsmöglichkeiten, um das Wohlbefinden von Klientinnen und Klienten in verschiedenen Settings zu steigern.
