Zusammenfassung

Nachhaltige Innovationen ist ein sich neu entwickelndes Forschungsfeld in der Innovationsforschung, das dem zunehmenden Bedeutungszuwachs der Nachhaltigkeit Rechnung trägt. Ausgehend von der kurzen Skizzierung der Entwicklung der Nachhaltigkeitsthematik in der Einleitung werden die verschiedenen Typen von Innovationen und ihre Entwicklung hin zu systemischen Innovationen im zweiten Abschnitt dargestellt. Im dritten Abschnitt werden die drei Dimensionen der Nachhaltigkeit eingeführt, bevor im vierten Abschnitt der aktuelle Stand der Forschung im Bereich nachhaltiger Innovationen vorgestellt wird. Der Beitrag kommt zum Schluss, dass grundsätzlich eine Konvergenz von Innovation und Nachhaltigkeit beobachtet werden kann, wobei Innovationen zukünftig alle drei Dimensionen der Nachhaltigkeit berücksichtigen und nicht nur dem Kriterium des nachhaltigen wirtschaftlichen Erfolgs genügen müssen.
