Zusammenfassung
Kapitel 3 widmet sich der Reaktionsanalyse, die die Teildisziplinen Stöchiometrie, Thermodynamik und Kinetik umfasst. Nicht jede Reaktion, die stöchiometrisch richtig formuliert ist, ist auch thermodynamisch möglich. Und nicht jede thermodynamisch mögliche Reaktion läuft auch kinetisch ab. Die Stöchiometrie beruht auf der sogenannten Elementbilanz, die in der Praxis zur Überprüfung der Bilanzierbarkeit herangezogen wird und bei komplexen Reaktionen eine Reduzierung der Anzahl experimentell zu bestimmender Spezies (sog. Schlüsselkomponenten) erlaubt. Reaktiontechnisch relevante Informationen sind die Reaktionsenthalpien (1. Hauptsatz der Thermodynamik) und die Gleichgewichtslagen (2. Hauptsatz der Thermodynamik). Die Kinetik wird am Beispiel der wichtigsten Reaktionsklassen erläutert, indem die typischen Reaktionsgeschwindigkeitsansätze formuliert oder abgeleitet werden.
