Zusammenfassung
Beim “Working Across Borders”-Projekt handelt es sich um ein virtuelles interkulturelles Projekt unter Beteiligung von Hochschulen und Universitäten aus verschiedenen Ländern auf drei Kontinenten. Ziel des Projektes ist es interkulturelle Kenntnisse durch interkulturelles Agieren zu vermitteln: das heißt gleichermaßen in Theorie und Praxis. Wesentliches Merkmal des Projektes ist neben der Vermittlung und Anwendung von Wissen und Kenntnissen im Bereich der Interkulturalität die Zusammenarbeit der Studierenden in interkulturellen Projektteams. Methodisch wird dabei vielfältig gearbeitet: die Vermittlung der Inhalte erfolgte auf verschiedenen Wegen. Das Lernen erfolgte auf der Höhe der digitalen Möglichkeiten in gemeinsamen Microsoft-Teams-Arbeitsgruppen, Kick-offs und Final Meetings in Form eines Global-Classrooms, Videos, Webinaren, Tutorials, dem wöchentlichen Freischalten von Aufgaben und dem Hochladen von Materialien auf einer gemeinsamen Plattform.

Project Tasks and Assignments
In order to bring the project to a successful completion, students will need to carry out the following tasks during the orientation and execution phase
Individual Orientation Phase: 1 October to 19 October 2020

Students learn about what makes a strong team and how to work effectively in intercultural teams

Students get acquainted with the project’s objectives in general, the client company, SDGs and sustainability

Students check out the online collaboration tools to be used during the project
-
Students complete a readiness test
Team Orientation Phase: 19 October to 6 November 2020

Students are briefed on the project during a Global Classroom session with all other students
-
The client company introduces the project objectives and challenges
-
Students make contact with their team members, develop trust and create a strong team
-
Students plan their weekly meetings and activities and share their acquired knowledge on the project topics and goals
Execution Phase: 9 November to 4 December 2020

Teams develop a project plan and meet regularly. They work on the project and execute their research components: business analysis (BMC), country analysis and selection of SDGs with an emphasis on the Climate Justice and Equity component, industry analysis, business opportunities etc.

Student teams will focus on the Climate Justice and Equity component and select the SDGs they will be working on and check off their findings with the project coach

Students deliver a video presentation to the jury in which they present their sustainable business ideas and recommendations
